Ylang Ylang

Ylang Ylang means flower of flowers and grows on a tree that can reach up to 20 meters in height, found in Haiti, Zanzibar, Indonesia, and Madagascar. Harvesting at a height of 20 meters is difficult, so the cultivated trees are pruned to a height of only 3-5 meters. The flowers of the Ylang Ylang tree are soft purple, pink, or yellow. The yellow flower yields the highest quality essential oil.
The oil is steam distilled from freshly picked flowers and is a clear colorless to pale yellow oil. The scent is sweet, floral, almost intoxicating, similar to jasmine.
